The Ideal Candidate Will Work Within The ITS Security Firewalls Division To Manage Various SCADA Networking And Security Infrastructure. This Includes But Not Limited To
The Senior Information Technology Engineer (DWU SCADA Engineer) will be responsible for these key responsibilities as well as any others assigned by management:
Identifies, determines, and defines business requirements to meet technology needs in providing a secured, robust, reliable, and efficient infrastructure for the City of Dallas and its departments; provides lead level engineering expertise in the development of IT solutions.
2 Designs, selects, tests, assembles, and standardizes the technology model for use across the IT landscape; communicates with business partners, departments, and management to ensure IT solutions meet IT needs.
3 Implements and migrates technology models across the organization; supports IT specialists in various departments to mitigate loss of service during transition or update periods.
4 Performs business modeling and systems engineering; works collaboratively with other professionals to build IT models that address issues, solve problems, and increase productivity.
5 Provides communication and education to information systems personnel on the technology model.
6 Leads and directs lower-level employees involved in medium m risk and medium sized projects.
7 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.

- Intermediate to Advanced skills and knowledge of NIST 800-82 security frameworks (Guide to Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Security)
- Intermediate to Advanced skills using and managing Cisco Next Generation Firewalls
- Intermediate to Advanced skills managing Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center (formerly Firepower Management Center)
- Should have a minimum of 3 years or more experience with various types of SCADA
The Senior Information Technology Engineer (DWU SCADA Engineer) will be responsible for these key responsibilities as well as any others assigned by management:
- Design and implement, utilizing NIST 800-82 security framework, current and proposed SCADA infrastructure security and network configurations
- Support and management of SCADA related incidents
- Utilize NIST 800-82 critical infrastructure security framework to implement, support and deploy City operated SCADA infrastructure and configurations
- Configure, Test and Deploy SCADA Accessories for networking, security accessories and components in support of SCADA infrastructure and configurations
- Communicate and collaborate with SCADA vendors, technical issues related to City operated, vendor managed SCADA infrastructure
- Design Network Stack to support SCADA infrastructure and configurations
- Design Firewalls Security Stacks to support SCADA infrastructure and configurations
- Monitor Network and security telemetry in support SCADA infrastructure and configurations
- Generate intrusion Incidents and Reports for management and larger security division
- Provide extended firewalls security support to team and organization
- Performs any and all other Security and Network tasks as needed or assigned.

Education
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or Information Technology related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in network engineering in three (3) or more of the following:
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting various network architecture
- Designing and implementing business solutions using common network equipment
- Configuring and installing software, routers, servers, and other network devices
- Designing and deploying functional networks such as LAN or WAN
- Monitoring network performance, security, and integrity
- Creating, overseeing, and testing security measures such as disaster recovery and access authentication
- Identifying and resolving issues by troubleshooting local and cloud infrastructure
- Two (2) years of supervisor/project management experience.
- High school diploma or GED plus nine (9) years of the required experience including two (2) years of the stated supervisory/project management experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Associate's degree in any field plus seven (7) years of the required experience including two (2) years of the stated supervisory/project management experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a non-specified field plus seven (7) years of the required experience including two (2) years of the stated supervisory/project management experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Master's degree or higher in a specified field plus three (3) years of the required experience including two (2) years of the stated supervisory/project management experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
- A Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) will substitute for three (3) years of the required experience.
- Must have or obtain CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate within (6) month probationary period.
- Must have or obtain CCIE—Cisco Certified Network Expert within (6) month probationary period.
- Must have or obtain CCNP – Cisco Certified Network Professional Security within (6) month probationary period.
- Must have or obtain PCCET – Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Entry-level Technician within (6) month probationary period.
- Must have or obtain PCNSA – Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator within (6) month probationary period.
- No FELONY or Class A misdemeanor convictions.
- No Class B misdemeanor conviction within the last ten (10) years.
- No family violence convictions
- Cannot currently be on deferred adjudication for any felony, class A misdemeanor or class B misdemeanor charge
- Availability for rotating on-call shifts including nights and weekends.
