What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian II- Part-time position at City of Danbury?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Checks on progress and quality of work
- Inspects work performed by cleaning contractors for compliance to the contract and general appearance.
- Cleans grounds around entrances and building
- Performs minor maintenance functions
- Provides assistance to department heads, fellow employees, and the public as required.
- Moves and organizes furniture
- During winter months, removes snow and ice from walks and other entryways not cleaned by other staff.
- Makes minor repairs to windows, doors, blinds, faucets and cleans/changes air filters, light bulbs, light fixtures, etc.
- Requests supply orders thru Public Buildings
- Performs related work as required and as assigned or directed by the Superintendent of Public Buildings
MINIMUM QUALFICIATIONS:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, equipment, etc. Knowledge of minor maintenance requirements to buildings and grounds. Knowledge of the operation of low-pressure heating systems and controls and ability to deal effectively with the public and associates.
Experience:
Previous custodial experience with some degree of supervisory experience.
Training:
Trained in the told and equipment used to maintain buildings.
Supervision Received:
Works under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Public Buildings.
