SUMMER CAMP JUNE - AUGUST
This is an exciting Part-Time (temporary) opportunity with the Parks & Recreation Department Summer Camp Program to show off your skills as a Summer Camp Counselor. Be a part of a summer of fun for the youth of our community. This summer position is part-time and offers a fun and engaging work environment! Applicants must be 18 .
Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Functions

- Assist with the implementation of the different activities to include sports, team games, arts and crafts, music, and life skills.
- Assist Site Supervisor(s) to maintain adequate inventory of program supplies.
- Assist Site Supervisor(s) with providing guidance and coaching to the children, as necessary.
- Ensure that supervisor is updated verbally, or in writing, on all activities and is kept informed of any related issues.
- Performs maintenance (i.e. garbage disposal or cleaning of facility) as needed.
- Ensures safe and sanitary conditions at all sites and reports to Site Supervisor(s) any problems encountered.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Assist with the tracking of the campers' attendance.

Are you at least 18 years of age?
Do you currently possess a high school diploma or GED?
Do you have a minimum of six months experience supervising children either in a summer camp, daycare / after-school care, or school setting?
Are you willing and able to submit fingerprints for a DCF background screening?
Can you attend the mandatory staff meeting orientation prior to the start of 2025 Summer Camp (date & time to be provided)?
Do you currently possess a valid CPR card and First Aid Skills Certification?
Do you have a minimum of one (1) year of related experience working with large group of children in a summer camp environment, day care / after-school care, or school setting?
