Position Summary

The City of Dania Beach is committed to employing a talented and diverse workforce. We are currently seeking a Risk Manager to join our dynamic Human Department Team. The ideal individual will work under the general direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In this advanced professional role, you will be responsible for developing and administering the City’s comprehensive risk management and safety program. Your primary duties will include managing all lines of insurance—such as worker's compensation, liability, property, and auto—and coordinating with our designated broker to handle and expedite all claims. You will serve as the Secretary to the Safety Committee, preparing detailed agendas and collaborating with the Broward Sheriff’s Office, our health coach, and insurance representatives. Additionally, you will provide backup support to the benefits specialist as needed. This job has wide latitude for independent action and discretion in the performance of assigned duties and is normally expected to carry all functions through to completion with only general instructions from the CHRO and feedback through conferences and report evaluations.
