The City of Danville Harrison Park Golf Course is seeking Seasonal Workers for the upcoming season. This is an 18-hole, par 71 course, which features some of the most scenic golf in the region.
Golf course maintenance workers perform a variety of tasks to keep a golf course in good condition. These tasks include mowing, trimming, and watering the course, as well as daily setup of the golf course for play. They also perform other manual labor to maintain the overall appearance of the grounds. Employees must maintain a positive and safe working environment for fellow employees and the general public.
Hours of Operation: 7:00am – 8:00pm, Sunday – Saturday. Work hours as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following examples are illustrative of the work duties and responsibilities of this position.
Cart Attendant:
- Light cleaning, trash pick-up, parking, cleaning carts.
- Must be 16 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
Grounds Crew:
- Mow greens, fairways, tees, collars, rough, and around all property buildings.
- Trim trees, shrubs, flower beds, cart paths, and around all property buildings.
- Water turf areas by hand or with irrigation systems.
- Operate push mowers, string trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and maintain the fuel level and cleanliness of all equipment.
- Repair turf, irrigation systems, and other equipment.
- Plant flowers, shrubs, and sod.
- Rake and remove debris from the course, and around all property buildings.
- Maintain a clean shop including the bathroom, breakroom and the golf course restrooms.
- Golf course maintenance workers may work in a variety of weather conditions, including inclement weather, around sharp equipment, and lifting to 75 pounds.
- Must be 18 years old.
Golf Shop Attendant:
- Customer service, answering telephones, stocking inventory, money handling.
- Ability to obtain Food Handler’s Certification.
- Ability to complete Basset Certification (Beverage Alcohol Sellers and Servers Education and Training).
- Must be 18 years old.
Benefits: In accordance with Paid Leave for All Workers Act (PLAWA), part-time, seasonal, auxiliary and temporary employees (not hired through a temporary employment agency) will earn one (1) hour of paid leave for every forty (40) hours worked in a 12-month period, up to a maximum of forty (40) hours of paid leave in a 12-month period.
