The City retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time.Maintains state of constant readiness for immediate response to multi-hazard emergencies; participates in training by attending and completing state and department required training; teaches classes to fire department personnel; provides customer service through assisting internal and external customers with a variety of tasks; teaches classes and provides tours to the public; installs smoke alarms; and other tasks as needed.Provides emergency medical response and care by securing the scene; evaluating the medical condition of the patient through proper assessment; delivering appropriate care including performing CPR if needed; utilizing medical equipment and materials; lifting and transporting patients; recording patient reports; communicating with patients and families; and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.Provides emergency incident stabilization and fire suppression services by quickly evaluating the specific incident; pulling and using hoses; climbing and lift ladders; using power tools and specialized equipment.Handles maintenance and ensures proper operation by checking, cleaning and preventative maintenance and repair of facilities; equipment; apparatus; and fire hydrants. ADDITIONAL DUTIESPerforms station maintenance and fire equipment maintenance. Providing public education.Acts as relief driver by driving and operating fire apparatus in the absence of the Firefighter/Engineer.Attends meetings and training sessions.Performs additional duties to support operational requirements as assigned.
