THE CITY OF DANVILLE: The City of Danville is located 35 miles southwest of Lexington and is a thriving community with a population of 17,000. POSITION SUMMARY: This is a non-supervisory position that provides police protection within the City of Danville along with related duties as required.
This is a skilled police position providing safety to the citizens of Danville, KY, and the work performed is required with a high level of initiative, integrity, trustworthiness, and ethics . The position will be subject to all the laws and regulations of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and work is performed under direct supervision in accordance with well-defined departmental policies and procedures.
COMPENSATION: The starting salary for this position is $49,632 annually. The salary will increase to $51,700 annually upon graduation from the KY police academy and obtaining police certification.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· HS Diploma or GED.
· Must possess and maintain a valid drivers’ license
CERTIFICATIONS:
· Applicants must have the ability to become POPS certified within the State of Kentucky as well as successfully complete the Danville Police Departments FTO program upon graduation from the police academy.
