What are the responsibilities and job description for the PW Warehouse Clerk-2nd Shift position at City of Danville?
Assists with warehouse operations. Maintains stock levels, receives materials in the warehouse, issues materials to appropriate departments, and maintains appropriate records.
Hours are 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

- Orders, receives and unloads warehouse inventory supplies, parts for city-owned vehicles, and non-stock items for work crews.
- Issues warehouse inventory stock items and consignment items kept in warehouse.
- Delivers parts and supplies to garage personnel and other city departments.
- Researches parts and prices from non-city entities.
- Maintains logs of all ordered items; creates purchase requisitions; and records daily issues and direct charge items. Maintains record of consignment items. Maintains credit card records and verifies transactions. Maintains warehouse stock lists and updates as needed.
- Enters data on daily issue sheets and into city computer software. Performs daily cycle counts and year-end inventory counts.
- Receives e-recycle goods from the general public.
- Picks up and delivers vehicles and equipment to repair facilities.
- Maintains cleanliness of warehouse and surroundings.
- Assists with inventory control by maintaining issue discrepancy list; assisting account clerk with discrepancies; recording received goods on “receives sheet” and assisting account clerk with discrepancies.
- Provides emergency response during severe weather (snow, floods, and storms).
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Performs research of special projects and reports as assigned; assists with various clerical duties as needed.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
High School diploma or GED, and one to two years of experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the specific requirements listed above
Certifications/Licenses
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record according to City criteria
- Forklift certification
- NIMS certification
Job Knowledge
Basic familiarity with the work to know common principles and terminology and to understand and solve simple problems.
Reading
Intermediate: Ability to read papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE
Typically requires use of standard office equipment, computer and related software and hardware, banding, stripping supplies, pallets, hammers and other small tools, etc.; and any other equipment appropriate or required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in warehouse, where there is daily exposure to noise and vibration. There is occasional exposure to mechanical and chemical hazards. There is seasonal exposure to respiratory hazards, extreme temperature, and wetness/humidity. There is rare exposure to explosives, communicable diseases, and physical danger or abuse.
The employee is expected to use appropriate protective equipment for the assigned task (hard hat, safety vest, steel-toe shoes, etc.); and any other equipment as apparent or assigned.
Salary : $32,974 - $39,500
