Definition
Under the direction of the Senior Aquatics Manager, assists with the general safety and security of patrons, staff and property at the City’s Aquatic Centers.

Examples Of Duties
Monitors pool area to ensure safety and compliance with rules and regulations.
Maintains a positive working relationship with patrons and staff to help ensure a safe pool environment.
Identifies potential conflicts and works with patrons to verbally de-escalate.
Assists with the resolution of patron grievances.
Calls 9-1-1 if verbal de-escalation is unsuccessful or when emergencies occur; does not engage in physical contact.
Secures the premises, patrons and staff by patrolling property, including the arrival and departure of staff as needed; regularly checks fence lines and parking lots; routinely checks facility, equipment and access points.
Communicates with management on identified security issues; submits daily written reports on pool incidents, patrons’ behavior concerns/matters and any other observed safety/security issues; complete reports by recording observations with detail, including witness interviews as necessary.
Helps communicate policy, procedures and expectations to patrons.
Attends staff meetings.
Participates in various in-service training programs, including facility emergency procedures, water rescues, first aid and CPR skills.
Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent; experience working with youth preferred.
Training in verbal de-escalation techniques.
Training in security processes and procedures preferred.
Must possess valid Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certificate upon hire or earn within one month of hire.
Must be 18 years old by time of hire to apply.
Must pass a background check as prescribed by the City of Davenport.
