This position performs a variety of tasks that ensures prompt, accurate, and efficient delivery of library collections, equipment, and supplies by driving, delivering, picking-up, and transferring library materials on a set schedule; serves as an ambassador for The Library when performing job tasks in the community; monitors needs for vehicle maintenance and cleaning; and performs other various duties as assigned.
This position may require scheduling at any library facilityas well as off-site locations during days, nights, and weekends.
Part-time 20 hours/weekSchedule: Monday-Friday 11:00am - 3:00pm
Examples Of Duties
- Creates a welcoming environment by providing excellent customer service and maintaining the appearance of public areas.
- Demonstrates commitment to The Library’s mission and vision by actively promoting services and resources.
- Communicates effectively with colleagues, patrons, stakeholders, and the community by responding to queries in a timely manner.
- Prepares, sorts, loads, and unloads vehicles for deliveries.
- Makes stops at all library locations and other locations as assigned.
- Determines course of action in the event of a vehicle breakdown, poor weather situation, or deteriorating road conditions when a supervisor is not available.
- Fuels, cleans, and keeps library vehicles in good working condition; reports maintenance concerns to supervisor.
- Assists with training colleagues for van run coverage.
Qualifications
High school diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years of experience with making deliveries or serving the public. Must have a good driving record with no accidents or citations for major violations within the last three (3) years.
