What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Equipment Service Worker | Part-Time position at City of Davenport?
Under general supervision performs work of routine difficulty servicing and cleaning vehicles assigned to transit operations and performs related work as required.
This position will remain open until filled.
The hours for this position are Mon - Sat 6PM - 10PM.
The City will provide and pay for CDL training upon hire.
Services vehicles daily: fills fuel tanks; cleans transit vehicle exteriors; inspects vehicle fluid levels and checks tire pressure. Documents and reports any found issues to shift supervisor.
Cleans passenger and driver areas on transit vehicles daily – including floors, seating areas, handrails and windows.
Collects and deposits bus fare box money into vault daily.
Operates transit buses within the confines of City property.
One year experience or training in servicing automotive equipment; or, an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Must possess a valid driver's license and obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake and passenger endorsements within 180 days of hire and maintain throughout duration of employment. The City will provide and pay for CDL training upon hire.
Must pass a physical examination and background check as prescribed by the city. All CDL personnel are subject to Federal Transit Authority Random Drug & Alcohol Program.
Good Knowledge of:
Routine vehicle inspection and safety procedures.
Work area hazards, safety precautions and personal protective equipment.
Experience handling money equivalent to that needed to handle bus fare box money.
Some Knowledge of:
Custodial cleaning operations, procedures and products.
Working Skill in:
Following oral and written instructions.
