Description
DEFINITION
To receive, store and issue supplies and equipment; to pick up and deliver supplies and equipment; to maintain adequate stock levels and inventory records on all goods; and to perform routine clerical duties as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Receive, categorize, store and issue supplies and equipment.
Store supplies and materials in orderly fashion; insure efficient utilization of available storage space.
Operate appropriate equipment to unload, pick up and deliver freight.
Assist in checking receiving notices against purchase orders for discrepancies in terms of order.
Pick up and deliver supplies, material and equipment as assigned.
Maintain adequate stock levels and inventory records on all goods.
Perform routine clerical tasks as assigned including answering phones, maintaining appropriate records and logs, and use of computer to maintain inventory records.
Maintain logs of surplus property and record transfers of property between departments.
Prepare purchase orders as directed.
Assist in scheduled inventory; prepare necessary records and reports.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other city employees and the public using principles of good customer service.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Storekeeping and warehousing methods and procedures including inventory control.
Record keeping methods and procedures.
Principles and practices of work safety.
Operation and maintenance of stockroom equipment.
Safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments.
Ability to:
On a continuous basis, know and understand the operations of the warehouse; observe safety rules and traffic laws; identify and locate necessary parts; interpret work orders; remember location of parts; explain operations to other employees.
On an intermittent basis, sit while preparing reports and operation vehicles and equipment; walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist while stocking parts; perform simple and power grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation; lift or carry weight of 75 pounds or less.
Learn types of supplies, materials and equipment commonly used by a local government agency.
Maintain records and maintain stock levels.
Perform arithmetic calculations accurately and rapidly.
Lift, move, sort and store objects of medium and heavy weight.
Operate a pick up truck and forklift.
Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Regular Part-Time Employment**
Employment with the City of Davis as a Regular Part-Time employee is governed by City Policy and Bargaining Unit MOU. The below stipulations apply to Regular Part-Time employment.
- Regular part-time employees will accrue leave on a pro-rated bases of a regular full-time position
- For regular part-time employees, the City shall pay the prorated medical and dental insurance contributions and the employee is responsible for paying the remaining portion of the premiums if applicable through payroll deductions. Any opt out Cash-in-lieu is also prorated.
- Regular part-time employees who are 50% are not eligible for life insurance.
