General Description
Serve in a customer service role for the City pools by working in concessions, admissions, bathhouse, & slide (VFW Only). Pool Facility Attendants are responsible for providing concessions sales, preparing food orders, collecting and stocking inventory and validation of membership passes, daily passes, and other entry desk skills. Pool Facility Attendant will also maintain a clean bathhouse, pool deck, stocking, and any other duties as assigned. Lastly, when assigned to VFW Aquatic Facility location, staff will serve as the slide attendant ensuring patrons abide by rules and regulations set forth by the Park and Recreation Department.
Work Schedule
Typical schedule varies daily and according to location. Shifts can range from 8:30-11:30 am; 12:45-4:30 pm & 5:45-8:45 pm weekdays; Saturday-Sunday 12:00 pm-6:30 pm with additional hours during special events as scheduled. Pool Facility Attendants may be scheduled one or more shifts per day. Hours vary weekly, depending upon weather, enrollment and other factors. Average of 25 hours/week, includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
Pools open the 2nd Saturday in June and close the 2nd to last Sunday in August. Additional hours will be required for training and facility prep before the pools open for the season.

Essential Functions
Provide customer service for all patrons.
Work in all job areas including concessions, admissions, bathhouse, and slide.
- Concessions duties include:
- Concession and/or general admission sales.
- Maintain accurate records and inventory using a Point of Sale (POS) System or cash register; Count money and change.
- Prepare and serve concessions food.
- Maintain cleanliness of concession stand.
- Admissions duties include:
- Collect admission fees.
- Record and submit admission records.
- Bathhouse/Maintenance duties include:
- Perform maintenance duties including mopping, washing windows, emptying trash and any other task deemed necessary by the Pool Manager or Program Supervisor.
- Clean pool grounds and locker rooms.
- Supervise locker rooms and pool grounds and report any problems to the Pool Manager.
- Ability to maintain a clean and healthy pool, pool building and surrounding area.
- Maintain records of cleaning supplies.
- Slide duties include:
- Ensure patrons abide by all rules and regulations set by Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.
- Ensure all patrons are of legal height to ride the water slides.
- Communicate with lifeguard at the exit of the slide to ensure patron safety.
Must be responsible and able to work independently.
Maintain prompt, predictable and reliable attendance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to provide customer service for all patrons.
- Ability to communicate with coworkers, management, and all patrons with courtesy and tact.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to count money and change required. Math skills HIGHLY required.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness of pools, pool buildings, and surrounding park area.

Minimum Requirements & Physical Requirements
- Organizational, math and customer skills required
- Cash handling experience preferred
- At least 16 years of age
- Prior cleaning experience required
