Job Summary
A Summer Day Camp Supervisor coordinates and supervises all facets of the summer day camp program. Work is performed under the direction of the Deputy Parks and Recreation Director and Parks and Recreation Director. The employees of the City are required to serve citizens and customers in a tactful, courteous manner; establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, directors, elected officials, and general public.
Compensation:
$17.00 - $19.00 per/hour. 40-Hours per week; Monday-Friday. This is a seasonal job and is not eligible for benefits nor paid time off.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists the Deputy Director in the recruitment, selection and orientation of all program staff and scheduling of all summer activities and events
- Evaluates the program staff, oversees day camp staff and provides discipline if necessary
- Assists in promotion of the program, maintains records and keeps equipment inventory, ordering when necessary
- Purchases weekly snacks
- Serves as a liaison between Recreation Department and the program and assists the Deputy Director with review and evaluation of the City’s Day Camp program
- Resolves public complaints and ensures safety of program participants
- Assists with overseeing equipment set-up for any special event or activity
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old, have earned a High School diploma or equivalent and other advanced course work or related field
- Must also have a general knowledge of first aid and experience with working with children
- Must be self-motivated, dependable and responsible and knowledge of the program’s goals and objectives
- Must be a self-motivated, dependable and responsible and have own transportation
