RATE OF PAY: $20.00 – $28.00 per class
We are specifically looking for Les Mills SPRINT, Cycle, Cardio Kickboxing, Barre, Pilates, Dance formats (Hustle or Belly Dance) but will also interview candidates with experience in water exercise, yoga, senior strength, or other relevant areas.
HOURS: Weekday mornings, weekday evenings, and weekend mornings.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
An employee in this position provides group exercise classes at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. They also direct and assist with class supervision and must hold some experience within the given format they are applying to instruct. - Supervises and/or instructs programs, activities, and special events as required.
- Resolves problems and/or complaints from members and class participants.
- Follows established building guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings
- Reports problems as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Willingness to sub for other classes/formats on the schedule as needed.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Considerable knowledge of teaching methods as required for particular class.
- Considerable knowledge of the equipment needed for particular class.
- Considerable knowledge of basic anatomy: muscles, bones, joint actions etc.
- Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and direct the particular class or activity specified.
- Ability to lead, instruct and advise individuals participating in the class or activity specified
- Ability to speak and work with the public.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with other employees, program participants, and the general public.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- The duties require a responsible, mature, dependable individual with considerable public contact experience and ability.
- Willingness and ability to accept responsibility for building facilities and to resolve problems and complaints.
- Experience teaching group classes preferred.
- Must be CPR certified or able to gain certification within 90 days of hire.
- Must hold a primary group exercise certification or specialty certification within 6 months of hire.
- Must submit to a criminal history check, drug screen and physical.
Salary : $20 - $28
