MINIMUM AGE: 18 years
PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT: Dearborn Hills Golf Course
Telegraph Rd. North of Michigan Ave.
HOURS OF WORK: Seasonal Position.
Working 20 to 40 hours per week during the golf season (April through November). The golf course is a 7-day operation, opening as early as 6:00 a.m. and closing as late as 10:00 p.m. The schedule for this position will vary and will include frequent evenings, weekends and holidays. Employees need to be available to work various shifts in order to have enough daily coverage. Extended time off during this period is extremely limited.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Employee may perform pro shop, starter/ranger and golf cart attendant duties as required.
- Employee may answer the phone, make tee time reservations, and receive patron’s money for fees, merchandise and snack bar items (some alcoholic).
- Employee may be responsible for overseeing individual golfing parties and monitoring their play on the course.
- Employee may patrol the course, monitor the pace of play, enforce course rules and policies, and maintain course appearance.
- Employee may prepare power carts for golfers, or for service as needed, and retrieve carts from golfers.
- Wash and clean carts and return to storage area.
- Maintain the cart outside service area.
- Employee is required to wear uniform (shirt & name badge).
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Employee in this position reports to the Golf Course Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Some knowledge of the game of golf, including proper golfing etiquette.
- Ability to operate cash register/computer system.
- Ability to keep records and prepares reports in a timely manner.
- Ability to follow oral instructions. Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to utilize tact and diplomacy in dealing with fellow employees, the public and enforcing course rules.
- Ability to maintain contact with golfers.
- Ability to operate and communicate via two-way radio.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. several times per shift.
NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATION:
- Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License
POST-EMPLOYMENT OFFER REQUIREMENTS:
Satisfactory completion of background check and a pre-employment physical and drug screen that tests for illegal drugs as defined by the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act but not those legalized under Michigan law.
