What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Assistant - Park Aide (SL) position at City of Dearborn?
RATE OF PAY: $12.48 per hour
MINIMUM AGE: 16 years
HOURS OF WORK: Seasonal position; Employees in this position are scheduled to work shifts between 8:00 a.m. & 10:00 p.m. on both weekdays and weekends during the months of May through September.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This is general caretaker work in the various parks throughout the City of Dearborn.
Essential Functions:
- May assist the Park Manager, or Head Lifeguard with coordination of park operations.
- May assist the Park Manager, or Head Lifeguard in enforcing public compliance with park rules and regulations.
- Will clean park comfort stations hourly and assists with aquatic facility cleanliness as necessary.
- Picks up papers and other debris throughout the entire park including aquatic facility, if applicable.
- Assists picnic groups and checks permits.
- Performs other related work as required or assigned.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
SPECIAL NOTE:
- Standard Health and First Aid, CPR, or Lifeguard Certification preferred.
- Ability to speak Arabic is desirable.
- Employees may be reassigned to a different location without prior notice.
POST-EMPLOYMENT OFFER REQUIREMENTS:
Satisfactory completion of background check and a pre-employment physical and drug screen that tests for illegal drugs as defined by the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act but not those legalized under Michigan law.
