Maintenance Worker I, II, or III – PUBLIC WORKS
The City of DeBary is accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department. Employees in the Right-of-Way Division perform a variety of tasks and duties including mowing, trimming, cutting brush, chemical application, refuse removal, and general grounds keeping.
MAINTENANCE WORKER I: Minimum qualification requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of six (6) months of directly related experience in general labor using appropriate tools and/or equipment. Background in stormwater construction or repairs preferred. The hourly pay range for this non-exempt full-time position is $16.64 to $17.44.
MAINTENANCE WORKER II: Possession of Maintenance of Traffic Certification and Stormwater I & II Certification Applicants and one (1) year related experience. The hourly pay range for this non-exempt full-time position is $18.15 - $19.95.
Maintenance Worker III: Minimum requirements include graduation from high school or a GED, 3 years of directly related experience, Florida Friendly Landscaping, Green Industry Best Management Practices Certifications and previous experience using appropriate tools and equipment, as well as possession of a valid Florida Pesticide Certification. Florida driver’s license and acceptable driving record is also required. Minimum starting rate for this non-exempt full-time position is $19.04 - $19.97.
The City of DeBary provides all employees health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability at no cost to the employee as well as a 10% contribution to the City’s 401(a) plan. Hours are 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.
