- Prepares, types, files and distributes forms, letters, memos, complaints, instructions, check requests, and various other confidential documents relevant to the Legal Department.
- Receives, opens and routes mail to include responding to correspondence regarding general information.
- Prepares necessary documents and lists for processing of demolitions.
- Answers departmental telephone calls, takes messages, schedules appointments, and answers or directs inquiries.
- Assists in preparation of ordinances, resolutions, and supporting documents for presentation to Council.
- Maintains appointment calendar for scheduling.
- Operates standard office equipment to include personal computer, typewriter, calculator, copier, scanner and fax.
- Assists in preparation of routine court pleadings, motions, legal briefs, ordinance violations, and supporting documents.
- Performs other related work as required
- High school graduate or equivalent supplemented by courses in typing and office practices and two years experience in law office work to include typing, filing, and operating various office equipment or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and the confidentiality necessary to perform various clerical work relevant to the legal department.
- Knowledge of the office practices and procedures of the legal and executive departments.
- Skill in typing, filing, organizing and maintaining various reports, records, correspondence and other legal documents.
- Skill in operating various standard office equipment to include computers, copier, scanner, etc.
- Skill in scheduling appointments and reservations for conference rooms.
- Skill in answering and routing departmental inquiries.

Salary : $49,920 - $62,400
