Summary Objective
The purpose of this position is to transport clients to and from Center, medically related appointments, social service agencies, parks and recreation programs and special events. Operates a bus to transport clients.
This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.
Essential Functions
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Transports participants to and from the Center for Active Aging, to medically related appointments, social service agencies, special events, and other designated destinations.
- Transports participants to and from City-wide special events and parks and recreation programs.
- Operate various transportation vehicles, including 12-25 passenger accessible buses and a large activity bus.
- Assists participants with entering and exiting the bus, and with wheelchairs and walkers.
- Follows established city rules and regulations related to the operation use of buses.
- Provides reports on routing, passengers, maintenance, and mileage.
- Cleans interior and exterior of vehicles daily.
- Inspects bus daily for any damages.
- Checks bus engine for issues.
- Assists staff members as requested.
- Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

WORK HOURS Monday - Friday, 7 : 30am - 4 : 30pm & Special Events (40 Hours per week; may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays to meet the business needs of the City.)
