-Enforce state laws and local ordinances to maintain public order and safety
- Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect criminal activity
- Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed
- Conduct traffic stops and issue citations or warnings for traffic violations
- Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and interview witnesses
- Arrest and process individuals suspected of committing crimes
- Prepare detailed reports documenting incidents and activities
- Provide testimony in court proceedings as necessary
Responsibilities:
Requirements:
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must not be older than 39 years of age at time of appointment
- Must be a United States Citizen
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must be certified in CPR/AED or able to obtain upon hiring.
- Must have strong conflict management skills to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and effective communication with the public.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently holds a basic certification from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA).
- Prior experience in law enforcement or military service
