Coordinate the procurement of parts necessary for City vehicles, equipment maintenance and repairs. Work is performed under general supervision.
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Order, receive and check supplies and parts for disbursement to appropriate areas for all City vehicles.
- Maintain computerized fleet inventory system.
- Arrange service for equipment, to include transporting to repair shops, retrieve such upon completion of service.
- Operate hand trucks, carts, forklifts and/or other equipment in receiving, warehousing, distributing, issue and stocking items.
- Consult vendor contracts to ensure items are ordered from correct vendor.
- Verify vendor's invoices upon receipt, ensuring account charging.
- Solicit bids from vendors for parts not covered by existing bid.
- Contact vendors to order parts not inventoried and create purchase orders for outside vendors without blanket purchase orders.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- Knowledge of the availability and procurement of automotive equipment parts and supplies.
- General knowledge of inventory and related accounting procedures.
- Basic knowledge of laws relating to public purchasing.
- Knowledge of a variety of materials, supplies and equipment used by the Fleet.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and written.
- Ability to operate computer.
- Ability to perform job order maintenance on fleet software.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record
- Three years experience in procuring, receiving, recording and disbursing of inventoried parts and materials, or a reasonable combination of equivalent experience in purchasing/inventory of automotive parts.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
- Must have or obtain within twelve months, ASE certification in Automotive Parts.

Salary : $36,878 - $62,338
