Non-Smoking
The City of Delray Beach is a Non-Tobacco Workplace. Skilled work in tree trimming maintenance of City trees. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor.
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Prune, trim, and remove trees.
- Operate chipper.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, bucket trucks, chipper machine, etc.
- Prepare daily report.
- Operate motor vehicle and power tools and equipment.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- Knowledge of tree trimming techniques and equipment used in tree care.
- Knowledge of variety of trees by name.
- Knowledge of hydraulic tools used.
- Ability to perform hard manual labor, work in elevated areas.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to complete daily work sheets.
- Skill in the use and preventative maintenance of equipment and tools.
- High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Three (3) years experience in tree care.
(A comparable amount of training, education or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License, Class B CDL with air brakes.
