DEFINITION: The purpose of this job/class within the organization is to manage and direct staff in the daily operations of water and waste water field operation
This job/class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Not all inclusive): Manages staff in the daily operation of water and waste water field operation; hires, trains, disciplines, conducts evaluations, and directs work of staff. Organizes and assigns work to crew leader and assists as needed to accomplish tasks during normal working hours and after hours. Attends construction meetings and conducts inspections of work done by contractors to ensure safety and compliance. Prepares and reviews maintenance schedule of assigned equipment. Confers with billing division to resolve customer billing problems and complaints. Monitors or identifies and marks pipeline locations for contractors and construction crews.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent. Requires six years' experience in water/waste water utility systems in maintenance including lead technician or closely related experience.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Requires a Water Distribution Level 1 license. Requires a Waste Water Collection A certification. Requires training in Cross Connection Control TO meet F.A.C. 62-555. Position is subject to being "on call" and working after normal City work hours as well as on weekends and holidays.
