What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator position at City of Denison?
Under general direction, Facilities Maintenance Coordinator will provide general maintenance and janitorial support for City facilities, ensuring that scheduled maintenance is completed and coordinates projects with supervisors and/or staff. This position will also assist with a wide range of miscellaneous duties on a daily basis.

- Operate various power and hand tools to assist in the maintenance and upgrade of City facilities.
- Maintain and order supplies necessary to perform custodial services with bathrooms, breakrooms, and coffee stations.
- Deliver supplies and transport materials/equipment/furniture to various areas.
- Assist in coordination of maintenance, repairs, and projects with each department.
- Perform restoration, renovation, and minor repairs.
- Drive frequently between facilities.
- Perform daily duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Capable of making clear and correct diagnosis of problems and projects and prescribe effective and efficient resolutions in a timely manner.
- Must be able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency and to exercise good judgment in responding to emergency situations. Able to make decisions amid conflicting information.
- Perform all work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs.
- Ability to attend work regularly and learn new technical skills quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to deal effectively with City employees and communicate clearly and tactfully with co-workers.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to use a computer and/or tablet.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Must pass a drug screen, driver’s license check, and criminal history background check.
- Three years of experience as a custodian or building maintenance technician.
