Description
Performs field work related to cemetery maintenance. May assist the Parks Maintenance Division with recreational activities and special events.
Examples of Duties

- Assists grounds crews with maintenance, landscaping and repairs of cemetery grounds, headstones, and cemetery roadways, including mowing, weed eating, repairing, or replacing signage, installing flags and banners, tree trimming, and debris removal which may include faded flowers and decorations.
- Operates hand tools, weed eaters, mowers, and other various equipment types used for division.
- Maintains all equipment, vehicles, tools, etc. in proper, safe, and clean working order.
- Performs the job in a safe manner and in compliance with policies, procedures, work and safety rules and the employee handbook.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of uses and purposes of general construction tools and equipment
- Knowledge and skill in the use of hand tools, machines and other similar equipment used for divisional purposes.
- Ability to learn a variety of construction and maintenance processes and equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor.
- Ability to understand & follow simple oral and/or written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have high school diploma/GED or currently enrolled
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must have driving record sufficient for coverage by City's auto liability carrier
