Summary

Responsible for promoting the City through, marketing, advertising, public relations, and strategic initiatives as part of Discover Denton, the official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for Denton, Texas. This individual will oversee and execute all in-house creative content across digital, video, audio, photography, and design platforms to elevate the Discover Denton brand while supporting sales, marketing, and outreach efforts to increase visitation, build partnerships, and enhance Denton's destination identity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

DUTIES

Oversee and execute all in-house creative content across digital, video, audio, photography, and design platforms to elevate the Discover Denton brand.
Collaborate and support the marketing and sales teams to develop a content roadmap aligned with Discover Denton's goals.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics for social media, website, and campaigns, making recommendations for creative improvements; provide recommendations and implement changes that improve performance metrics.
Ensure creative content consistently adheres to Discover Denton's branding guidelines and resonates with target audiences.
Maintain Discover Denton's digital and physical creative assets and provide recommendations on new technologies and equipment.
Provide support to sales, marketing, and outreach efforts to increase visitation, build partnerships, and enhance Denton's destination identity.
Develop and produce high-quality video, photography, and graphic content to support campaigns across digital, print, and multimedia platforms.
Plan, write, produce, and edit engaging videos for web, social media, presentations, and group bid proposals.
Curate on-brand visual and written content highlighting local hotels, restaurants, venues, attractions, and client testimonials.
Assist in the creation of marketing collateral, including advertisements, brochures, and promotional materials.
Act as an internal consultant for citywide initiatives and projects, providing creative solutions to achieve goals.
Serve as the liaison with external creative vendors, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
Communicate content initiatives and results to leadership and stakeholders.
Support marketing efforts at special events, including creative development for booths, displays, and presentations.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Video Production, or related field; and,

Two (2) years' experience in marketing, video production, creative design, multimedia content development, or related field,

Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES

Skill at the advanced level with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Canva, Microsoft Office 365, video / audio production tools, and other software systems necessary to complete work.

Skill in providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.

Ability to maximize customer engagement with creative campaigns, creative storytelling, and visual marketing content.

Ability to evaluate content and convey information effectively.

Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written forms, for the needs of the audience.

Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure and confidentiality.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Must have and maintain a valid Class "C" Driver's License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class "C" driver's license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law)

Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check and social security number verification.

Must attend and successfully complete the City's Defensive Driving Course (DDC) as soon as possible after employment (if required to drive City vehicle or personal vehicle for City business).

Environmental Factors and Conditions / Physical Requirements

Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment; ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.

Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing; operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Tools / Equipment Used : Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals. laboratory ecological and environmental testing and monitoring equipment; wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Posture : Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing / pulling, and twisting.

Motion : Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.

Lifting : Lifting no more than 20 pounds and carrying up to 10 pounds.

Environment : Works in an office setting office and outside with exposure to sun, heat, cold, humidity, and inclement weather, noise, chemicals, odors, and rough terrain; occasionally requires irregular and / or prolonged hours.

Travel : Travels to City of Denton buildings and professional meetings as required.

Attendance : Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Must be able to work after normal business hours, special events, speaking engagements, and weekends, as needed.
