Summary
Hiring Range: $25.78/hour - $35.20 hour Depending on Qualifications
Responsible for assisting internal and external stakeholders with all electrical work to ensure system functionality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

DUTIES
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and components, including but not limited to, general electrical systems and electrical feeders for municipal/industrial water plant facilities, motor starters, electric motors, pump control circuits, level controls, automation control circuits, instrumentation equipment, motorized valve operators, relays, transformers, and lighting equipment.
- Assist with installing all types of conduit, pulling wire and cable, installing junction boxes and enclosures, in accordance with National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) requirements.
- Build control panels using appropriate documentation as directed.
- Assist in performing troubleshooting duties on operational equipment, including but not limited to, taking volt and amp readings on live circuits.

Job Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Electric Maintenance Technician II
- High School diploma or equivalent; and,
- Four (4) years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work; and,
- Journeyman/Industrial license issued by the State of Texas,
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.
- High School diploma or equivalent; and,
- Seven (7) years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work; and,
- Journeyman/Industrial license issued by the State of Texas,
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

- Ability to perform pole top and bucket truck rescue and to follow approved DME safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and construct new electric facilities from blueprints, work orders and/or follow feeder route switching orders.
- Ability to document all adjustments necessary and approved to complete the project.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow safety protocols and safe work procedures.
- Must have and maintain a valid Class "C" Driver's License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class "C" driver's license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law)
- Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification.
- Must pass a physical examination.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements
SAFETY
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment; ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing; operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Promptly report unsafe conditions in the work area and/or any conditions that are not immediately correctable to the supervisor.

- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals, hand and power tools, ladder, scaffolds, electrical and trenching equipment, bucket trucks and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), steel toe boots, hard hat, gloves, and hearing protection.
- Posture: Prolonged balancing, standing, walking, and climbing; occasional sitting; frequent stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, climbing, and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions.
- Lifting: Lifting no more than 100 pounds and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Environment: Works outside with exposure to sun, heat, cold and increment weather, noise, no/low light, insects, poison oak/ivy, debris, odor, confined spaces, and rough terrain; occasionally requires irregular and/or prolonged hours.
- Travel: Travels to City of Denton buildings and professional meetings as required.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Must maintain accessibility to respond to emergencies at all hours, if needed. Must be able to work overtime, as needed.
