Summary
Responsible for performing Denton Municipal Electric (DME) activities, including but not limited to, assisting with project completion tracking, receiving incoming materials, reserving materials for future projects, inspects products, maintaining an organized environment, receiving and verifying invoices against purchase orders, and input correct data into the database.

DUTIES
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure materials are available for construction projects; reserve materials required for upcoming projects in the DME Lifecycle database.
- Inspect and ensure maintenance of equipment before, during, and after use; notify leadership immediately if equipment is damaged and not able to be fixed.
- Inspect received material for quantity, including visual inspections for identity, breakage, and condition; initiate material receipt and appropriate tracking records.
- Utilize ERP system to place orders, track shipments, receive materials, and create purchase orders for materials and contracted work based on quotes and/or estimates; perform weekly audit of all materials in DME's stock inventory, reconcile count against Automated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and resolve any discrepancies between counts.
- Obtain informal quotes for materials, research availability, quality, and accurate delivery dates; provides recommendations on the best value for materials.
- Assist with suppliers/contractors negotiations and locates locate materials, supplies, parts, tools and equipment; complete requisition entry into City of Denton financial system, as appropriate.
- Perform standard shipping/receiving functions, including but not limited to, verify correct materials received upon delivery and shipping manifests balance with invoicing.
- Operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts and knuckle booms, to fulfill customer orders, unload deliveries, and organize existing stock within the DME Pole Yard.
- Issue materials and tools under proper authorization.
- Maintain Pole Yard, including but not limited to, record of tools and equipment issued and returned by field crews; order tools, parts, and repairs, as needed.
- Performs the disposal of scrapped transformers in compliance with EPA regulations; prepare and pack material for shipment and/or storage.
- Assist with other daily operations, including but not limited to, ordering, maintaining, and issuing DME uniforms, as needed.

Job Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent; and,
- Five (5) years’ experience in logistical operations or related field,
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
- Lifting: Occasional heavy lifting no more than 100 pounds and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Environment: Works inside and outside with exposure to sun, heat, cold and inclement weather, noise, chemicals, odor, and rough terrain; occasionally requires irregular and/or prolonged hours.
- Travel: Travels to City of Denton buildings and professional meetings as required.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Must be able to work after normal business hours and weekends, as needed. Must be able to be on an outage standby every 3rd week.
