Summary
Responsible for performing administrative and manual tasks supporting warehouse operations and provides materials and assistance for new utility construction, emergency utility repairs, and maintenance of the City’s infrastructure in a timely and customer-friendly manner.

DUTIES
- Utilize Automated Material Resource Planning (MRP) system(s) to order, track, ship, receive materials, and monitor inventory levels; create and files system-generated documentation to record all system transactions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure materials are available for projects.
- Forecast material demand based on consumption and historical data; ensure minimum and maximum stock/material levels, maintain material and safety stock availability, rotate stock, and identify obsolete items for appropriate handling.
- Track product and material outages and work with internal and external stakeholders to expedite materials to meet Required Delivery Dates (RDDs); notify leadership and impacted departments of material shortage including availability timelines and alternative material and/or product options, if available.
- Research and obtain informal quotes for materials, including item availability, quality, and delivery dates; provide recommendation on the material with the best value.
- Assemble and stage orders, load and unload vendor receipts/returns, transfer stock, and stock material by hand as needed. Complete routine physical inventory cycle counts, maintain physical inventory documents, and update MRP, as required.
- Manage and track deliveries for other departments; ensure deliveries are logged in and picked up.
- Facilitate disposal of City-owned property including but not limited to completion of appropriate documentation, disposal methods are followed, coordinate with third-party auction, and ensure all required documentation for auctioned property has been completed and obtained.
- Assist in creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); ensure materials and supplies are properly received, inspected, stored, issued, and delivered in compliance with SOPs.
- Perform pre and post operation review and preventative maintenance on general purpose vehicles; maintain clean and uncluttered physical condition warehouse, offices, and common areas.
- Deliver interoffice mail and remote orders, as directed.

Job Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent; and,
- Three (3) years’ experience in inventory management, supply chain, logistics, warehouse operations, and/or related field,
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

- Must pass a physical examination.

- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse, and reaching; moderate climbing.
- Lifting: Lifting no more than 50 pounds and carrying up to 25 pounds.
- Environment: Works in an office setting office, warehouse setting and outside with exposure to sun, heat, cold and inclement weather, noise, chemicals, odor, debris, and rough terrain; occasionally requires irregular and/or prolonged hours.
- Travel: Travels to City of Denton buildings and professional meetings as required.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Must be able to work after normal business hours and weekends, as needed. Must be able to respond to after-hour calls, as needed.
