DUTIES
- Provide swim coach instruction for a variety of age groups and/or skill levels.
- Submit written workouts, as requested.
- Maintain current team records.
- Ensure the safety of all team members according to facility policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with the Head Swim Coach on all TAAF summer swim meet entries for Denton swim team members.
- Travel and represent the City of Denton at TAAF swim meets, as appropriate.
- Assist with hosting of all TAAF summer swim meets held in Denton.

- One (1) season swim coach experience; and,
- Red Cross or American Heart Association Adult CPR, AED & First Aid Certification designated timeframe outlined for program (online training is not valid),

- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.

- Must have and maintain a valid Class “C” Driver’s License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class “C” driver’s license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law).,
- Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification.
- Must pass a physical examination.
- Must maintain Red Cross or American Heart Association Adult CPR, AED & First Aid Certification designated timeframe outlined for program (online training is not valid).
- Must be at least seventeen (17) years of age.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment; ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Promptly report unsafe conditions in work area and/or any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
- Safety Sensitive (Subject to random drug testing): Yes.
- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals Colorado timing system and coach swimming equipment including resuscitation mask and other first aid supplies.
- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, ; occasional reaching.
- Lifting: Lifting no more than 100 pounds and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Environment: Works inside and outside with exposure to inclement weather, noise, debris, odor, and chemicals;; occasionally requires irregular and/or prolonged hours.
- Travel: Travels to City of Denton buildings and professional meetings as required.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
- Must be able to work overtime or outside of normal business hours, as required
- Must be available for position trainings during the designated timeframe outlined for program.
- Must be able to obtain Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid certification by the designated timeframe outlined for program.
- Must be able to work the designated summer seasonal program schedule, dates will adjust annually, Monday - Friday with shift times varying between 7:00 am and 8:30 pm.
- Must work the Citywide special event, date will adjust annually.
- Must be able to work on a rotating schedule seven (7) days per week.
