Responsible for assisting the Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) in day-to-day operations at Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

DUTIES
- Assist with building opening, evaluation, and communication of trail conditions for field trips, leading Denton Independent School District (ISD) field trips, inspecting trail, leading activities, completing maintenance reports, and monitoring and replacing supplies.
- Greet customers, answers phones, direct calls, answer and resolve routine inquiries and/or complaints, run errands, perform data entry and retrieval, and prepare memoranda and letters.
- Assist with public outreach including, but not limited to, update trail conditions on applicable social media and other outreach social media campaigns.
- Clean center and ensure overall appearance of facility is in proper order; complete, track and maintain Building Maintenance Logs.
- Assist with scheduling volunteers, leading volunteer projects, and special research studies, as needed.
- Coordinate with Master Naturalists, Master Gardeners, and other internal and external stakeholders regarding programming, volunteer work and educational trips, as directed.

- Must pass a physical examination.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment; ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing; operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.

- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals; use of hand tools, light-to-heavy equipment and motor vehicles; wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
- Lifting: Lifting no more than 50 pounds and carrying up to 25 pounds.
- Environment: Works outside with exposure to sun, heat, cold, humidity, and inclement weather, noise, vibration, dust, chemicals, fuel, fumes, odors, potentially hazardous conditions, and rough terrain; occasionally requires irregular and/or prolonged hours.
- Travel: Travels to City of Denton buildings and professional meetings as required.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. Must be able to work after normal business hours, holidays, and weekends, as needed.
