Pay Range: Minimum - Mid Point for Positions
Water Reclamation Tech I: $21.21 - $27.58
Water Reclamation Tech II: $24.55 - $31.92
Water Reclamation Tech III: $25.78 - $33.52
Water Reclamation Tech IV: $27.07 - $35.20

Works under the supervision of a licensed Operator to help ensure the proper operation of 2 Wastewater Treatment Plants and meet all federal and state effluent quality standards.Essential Job Functions:
- Monitors plant operations by observation, instrumentation, SCADA and laboratory test results and to make process control adjustments under the supervision of a licensed operator.
- Interprets technical data through the use of SCADA, Information Management Systems, graphs and charts.
- Monitors the condition of various mechanical and process equipment and to notify the appropriate personnel for needed repairs.
- Assists licensed Operator's in performing various lab tests and learns to interpret the results.
- Maintains thorough logs and records.
- Assists licensed Operator's to learn how to troubleshoot operational problems through the use of historical trending, data, and lab results.
- Observes all safety guidelines established by the City of Denton.
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Maintains regular and punctual on-site attendance
- May be needed to respond to after-hour emergencies at the plant and lift stations and assist in making necessary repairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Water Reclamation Tech I
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- One-year experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
- High school diploma or GED equivalent plus 60 hours of approved courses in Wastewater Technology
- One-year experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment
- At least one-year experience in a Wastewater treatment plant
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
- High school diploma or GED equivalent plus 100 hours of approved courses in Wastewater Technology
- One year of experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment
- At least four years' experience in a wastewater treatment plant
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
- High school diploma or GED equivalent plus 100 hours of approved courses in Wastewater Technology
- One year of experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment
- Ten (10) years’ experience in the operation of an activated sludge treatment plant.
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
Core Competencies:

Preferences:
- Class "B" CDL
- Previous experience in a Wastewater treatment plant
- Class B TCEQ WW Operator's License
Conditions of Employment:
- Must have and maintain a valid Class "C" Driver's License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class "C" driver's license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law)
- Must obtain Class "B" CDL within 6 months of employment
- Must pass a drug test, driver's license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification check
- Must pass a physical examination
- Must obtain Class "C" TCEQ Wastewater Operator Certification within 24 months of employment
