What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Support Specialist position at City of DeRidder?
.Applicants must have the following requirements:
· Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
· Applicants must have a Louisiana driver’s license.
· Applicants must pass a criminal background check.
· Must have ability to climb ladders, crawl in tight spaces and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
· Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of IT certifications such as CompTIA, or Microsoft with a minimum of three years’ experience and/or training in the computer hardware/software field; or equivalent combination of education.
· Demonstrated knowledge in managing router, network switches, understanding VLANs, VPN tunneling, and VOIC telephony systems.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Server Protocols/Microsoft Administration Certifications Preferred.
Duties included but not limited to:
· Network Infrastructure Management for City Hall, Police/Fire Departments and outlying offices.
· Management/maintenance of software such as Microsoft 365, Firewall Protocols, Cybersecurity, CJIS Compliance policies including other daily, monthly, or yearly updates.
· Manage video security systems at various locations/parks and assist in installation/management of Police vehicle/body camera systems, street cameras/LPR, Fire vehicle/station cameras throughout City properties to keep them operational.
· Ability to manage and administrate, Network security concepts and firewall, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Server and Desktop Virtualization, Backup and other Disaster Recovery and participate in maintenance of Disaster/Recovery Plan.
· Installation, removal, or replacement of various equipment including but not limited to pulling network cables, power cables, radio cables, and use of ladders. May include going into confined spaces, attics and crawlspaces.
· Ability to work with all City employees for their Departments’ respective needs.
· Ability to manage a work order system and be self motivated.
· Willing to be on call and respond to immediate needs of City Hall when needed.
