The purpose of this position is to manage the operations of the department. This is accomplished by scheduling court dockets; assisting with work plans; managing staff; developing procedures; coordinating activities with judges and prosecutors; developing and monitoring budgets and revenues; responding to inquiries; and maintaining all records and court documents. Other duties include coordinating activities with other departments.
- Manages staff by scheduling and assigning tasks; developing working guidelines; assigning special projects; reviewing performance; and assisting in resolving customer inquiries.
- Assists judicial staff by researching information; developing and implementing procedures; identifying, recommending and implementing business system changes; reviewing software processes; ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations; ensuring the accuracy of legal notices; managing the calendar; retaining relevant documents; overseeing work plans and assignments; maintaining websites; overseeing payment calculations; and monitoring internal controls.
- Supports budget activities by reviewing expenditures and revenues; recommending changes; reviewing staffing; approving invoices; and monitoring changes.
- Assists with dockets by preparing files and notices; preparing and issuing jury summons; registering jurors; and processing related documents.
- Manages records by preparing and reviewing warrants, disposition forms and hearing documents; reviewing correspondence; responding to inquiries; and retaining records.
- Bachelor's Degree in public administration or related field from an accredited university
- Five years of experience managing or supervising municipal court activities
- Knowledge of relevant local, state and federal laws and regulations
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of municipal court administration
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers, the public, and elected and appointed officials
- Ability to be certified for TCIC/NCIC and TLETS
- Skill in the operation and use of standard office software which includes databases and presentation programs, along with standard Microsoft products
Salary : $83,700 - $122,200
