Position Overview
In this role, you will perform semi-skilled to skilled maintenance, repair, and custodial work on City buildings, equipment, and properties, including the upkeep of City cemeteries.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and boiler systems.
- Conduct chemical applications for vector and weed control programs.
- Serve as the caretaker for City cemeteries and maintain City properties.
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery for groundskeeping and snow removal.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Assist with training new and seasonal employees.
- Fulfill on-call duties as assigned.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Two years of experience in buildings or grounds maintenance preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Valid Driver's License.
- ND Class B Commercial Driver's Permit (within 3 months of hire) and Class B CDL (within 6 months of hire) with automatic transmission and air brakes.
- Vector Control Certification (Public Health) - within 6 months of hire.
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification (Ground Core, Right of Way, Ornamental Turf) - within 6 months of hire.
- Forklift and Bucket Truck Certification - within 6 months of hire.
