Position Overview:In this role, you will manage and coordinate interlibrary loan services, ensuring patrons have seamless access to materials from other libraries. This position will involve assisting with loan requests, maintaining records, and promoting library services within the community.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee and coordinate all interlibrary loan activities.
Assist patrons with loan requests, ensuring compliance with library policies.
Maintain accurate records of loan transactions and prepare reports.
Troubleshoot issues with loaned materials and coordinate with other libraries.
Promote and educate patrons on available interlibrary loan services.
Provide circulation desk support and assist with collection maintenance.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science, Humanities, or related field.
Experience: 1-3 years in a library setting, with preference for interlibrary loan experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent customer service and communication abilities
Proficiency with library management software and computer systems
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
Valid Driver’s License
ND Library Media Certification (LM 03) preferred
