We're Hiring: Seasonal Snow Plow Operator!
The City of Dickinson is looking for dedicated and skilled individuals to join our team as Seasonal Snow Plow Operators. In this role, you'll help ensure safe travel for residents and visitors by clearing snow and applying de-icing materials to city streets, alleys, parking lots, and other public areas.
Schedule: On-call, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during snow and ice events.
Salary: $23.07 per hour, depending on qualifications.Job Responsibilities:
- Operate snowplows, brine/salt spreaders, and other specialized snow removal equipment.
- Apply brine, salt, sand, or other de-icing materials to roadways and pedestrian areas.
- Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly to snow and ice events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and maintenance of vehicles and equipment before and after use.
- Report any mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions to the Street Supervisor immediately.
- Ensure roadways, intersections, and parking lots meet city safety standards.
- Follow all safety guidelines and remain aware of vehicles, pedestrians, and property while operating equipment.
- Assist in loading brine, salt, or sand into spreaders as required.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2–3 years of prior experience operating snow removal equipment for city streets or highways.
Special Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License.
- North Dakota Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker and air brake endorsements (required upon hire).
- Clean driving record.
- Availability for day or night operations, including weekends, with short notice.
