This position performs a variety of routine work in connection with the reception services for City Hall.
The Solution Center Representative does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
This position is classified as a non-exempt, full-time position with a 40 hour work-week.
Essential Functions:This position is classified as a non-exempt, full-time position with a 40 hour work-week.
- Answers the 2nd floor main switchboard and directs all incoming calls to the appropriate personnel/department.
- Responds to customer inquiries.
- Provides general support and assistance to office staff.
- Operates the various City switchboards, as requested.
- Receives and transmits messages to City staff.
- Tracks the number of incoming calls and visitors through existing databases.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the city manager or his designee.
- Performs other related work as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent and one year experience as a receptionist.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS REQUIRED
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Must be fluent in the English language.
- Highly desirable to be bilingual, English and Spanish, so as to serve the clientele.
- Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette.
- Ability to get along with others and work effectively with the public and fellow workers.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to provide general information to callers.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word, WordPerfect or a similar word processing program and type at least 30 words per minute.
- Ability to use small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
- Ability to use computers for data entry.
- Ability to use computers for word processing and/or accounting purposes.
- Ability to meet and deal with the public, members of the department and other official agencies in an effective and courteous manner.
- Ability to perform several tasks at one time.
- Applicants must also complete all requirements established by the City of Doral for employment.
- Must be a non-smoker.
- The minimum requirements may be waived by the City Manager.
- Ability to feel, handle/grasp/touch, crouch, lift small objects, see and express ideas through speaking.
- Ability to walk from one work site to another.
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Salary : $37,296 - $55,943
