The City of Dover is currently seeking applicants for the position of Parking Enforcement Officer within the Police Department. This position enforces parking ordinances and laws and is responsible for parked vehicles in the assigned area. This position will work under general supervision according to some procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks.
Job Responsibilities
· Patrols assigned area for violators of City ordinances and State laws pertaining to parked vehicles.
· Marks parked vehicles.
· Issues citations to violators, entering vehicle data and location into hand-held computer.
· Ability to interact with the public and respond to requests for directions and other general information.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED
· Requires DELJIS certification
· No prior experience and a short demonstration

A criminal background investigation and driving record review will be required. Candidates may be given a job-related test during the interview.
