Do you have a passion for working with children? Apply today to join the City of Dublin's Wee Folk Room at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC) as a Child Care Attendant to tend to and monitor the children of individuals utilizing our facilities.

Scheduling / Availability : Currently looking for individuals available to work the following shifts, with the ability to pick up additional shifts :

  • Mondays, 4-8 : 15pm
  • Tuesdays, 4-8 : 15pm
  • Fridays, 4-8 : 15pm

  • Examples of Duties

    Childcare Attendant duties include, but are not limited to :

  • Design and implement daily crafts and activities for children of different ages to be able to participate in while they are in the room.
  • Maintain the safety and well-being the kids using the Wee Folk Room by following Wee Folk policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and problem solve calmly and respectfully with families, facility staff and DCRC full-time staff.

  • Staying up to date on any new room policies, rules and trainings.
  • Updating medical and emergency information in the computer system.
  • Informing parents of sign in / out processes.
  • Ensure the security of equipment and supplies , including tracking inventory and timely planning for replacement of supplies.
  • Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in the Wee Folk Room and outside play area.

  • Conduct a daily check of the area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
  • Clean program area, keeping it free of hazards and debris.
  • Interact with child(ren) and parents in a fair and positive manner.
  • Stay alert to child(ren) needs and assist them with needs.

  • Work cooperatively with other staff members, supervisors, and Managers on Duty to create a safe and enjoyable experience that keep children involved and having fun.

  • Typical Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 15 years of age or older
  • Possession of current American Red Cross certifications in CPR / AED / First Aid or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Willing to work under direct supervision
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in childhood development, babysitting, recreation or latchkey programs
  • Current / previous certification in American Red Cross Babysitting
  • Physical Requirements

  • Potential to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to sit on the floor for a period of time in order to play or read with children
