Then the City of Dublin is right where you belong! We are looking for our next great Aquatics Operation Coordinator to round out our team of experienced Aquatic Professionals.


As the Aquatics Operation Coordinator, you’ll oversee and manage daily on-site facility operations at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC) and outdoor pools in ensuring patron safety and satisfaction. You’ll be maintaining certifications and emergency training for all full and part-time Recreation Services staff. This position is responsible for supervising seasonal and part-time staff of one of the largest work units in the City.

Please note: The annually salary range is $45,200.00-$66,200.00. Given the nature of this classification’s duties/responsibilities, it has been designated as Non-Exempt under the governing Fair Labor Standards Act regulations and, therefore, is entitled to formal overtime compensation and/or formal compensatory time.

Aquatics Operation Coordinator duties include, but not limited to, the following:

Ensure the Safety of All


  • Maintains facility operations and water chemistry for all aquatic facilities; ability to operate, trouble shoot and make minor repairs to all aquatics equipment
  • Inspects facilities for safety, hazards, deficiencies and cleanliness
  • Reviews and recommends changes to safety related policies and emergency action plans.
  • Performs necessary duties to ensure outdoor facilities are prepped for opening and closing. As well as duties needed during annual shutdown of the indoor facility.
  • Coordinating and implementing American Red Cross training, in-services and re-certification programs for full and part-time Recreation Services staff

Staff Management with a focus on Building Effective Teams & Approachability
  • Recruiting and hiring part-time/seasonal aquatic staff including lifeguards, pool managers, and guest service workers
  • Responsible for part-time staff management including; recruitment and recognition plans, evaluations, personnel issues and disciplinary actions
  • Approves and corrects Kronos software time entries for all scheduled employees
  • Liaison with other departments and work units to identify, notify and act upon client and facility needs.

Critical Thinking with a focus on Problem Solving and Creativity
  • Scheduling required aquatic staff to provide adequate coverage for all facilities for programs, activities and non-structured swimming
  • Responsible for daily operations of facilities and/or department through problem solving of patron, staff, maintenance and facility related issues
  • Availability to assist with trouble shooting and staffing issues

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a bachelor's degree in recreation or related field or any equivalent combination of accepted education and experience that would provide the above knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Previous experience in a supervisory capacity required, preferably in similar industry.

Preferred Qualification
Certifications in work unit specific areas include: Aquatics-Lifeguard certification, lifeguard instructor and CPO/AFO preferred.

Physical Requirements
Ability to move about workspaces such as an office, pool deck and pump room to access files, supplies and equipment.

Ability to operate a computer and other office machinery as well as pump room equipment such as chemical supplying devices.

Ability to exchange information with co-workers and citizens through use of email system, the telephone, and in-person interactions.

Ability to occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Ability to enter data into computer system in a sustained manner.

Special Requirements
Valid driver’s license.

HEALTH BENEFITS
The City of Dublin offers a high deductible health care plan through United Healthcare that provides 100% coverage for preventative care. Employee or family coverage is available. Additionally our integrated wellness program, Healthy by Choice (HBC), allows employees to earn a waiver of all or a portion of the medical plan premiums.

HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT/HEALTH REIMBURSEMENT ACCOUNT
Annually, the City will deposit 75% of your health insurance deductible amount into an HSA account in your name.

VISION AND DENTAL
The City pays 100% of the premium for dental and vision. Coverage levels will be explained in further detail at time of hire.

LIFE INSURANCE
The City pays 100% of the premium for 1.5 times your salary up to $150,000 term life insurance coverage for the employee. Supplemental insurance is available.

RETIREMENT PENSION
The City contributes 14% monthly toward retirement benefits offered through the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System. The employee pension payment share is 10% of gross salary.

VACATION
New employees accrue two weeks of paid vacation their first year. Vacation time increases with length of service time. Prior public service may be honored as service credit for vacation accrual.

PERSONAL LEAVE
Employees receive five prorated days of personal leave annually.

SICK LEAVE
Employees are advanced three sick days at the time of hire and accrue nine sick days in total annually.

OTHER
Ten paid holidays per year, employer paid short term disability, tuition reimbursement of up to $5,000 annually, recreation membership , and longevity pay after four years of full time completed service with the City of Dublin.
