What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Attendant (Rec Center) position at City of Dublin?
Scheduling/Availability: Currently looking for individuals available to work the following shifts, with the ability to pick up additional shifts:
- Mondays, 4-8:15pm
- Tuesdays, 4-8:15pm
- Fridays, 4-8:15pm

- Design and implement daily crafts and activities for children of different ages to be able to participate in while they are in the room.
- Maintain the safety and well-being the kids using the Wee Folk Room by following Wee Folk policies and procedures.
- Communicate and problem solve calmly and respectfully with families, facility staff and DCRC full-time staff.
- Staying up to date on any new room policies, rules and trainings.
- Updating medical and emergency information in the computer system.
- Informing parents of sign in/out processes.
- Ensure the security of equipment and supplies, including tracking inventory and timely planning for replacement of supplies.
- Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in the Wee Folk Room and outside play area.
- Conduct a daily check of the area and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
- Clean program area, keeping it free of hazards and debris.
- Interact with child(ren) and parents in a fair and positive manner.
- Stay alert to child(ren) needs and assist them with needs.
- Work cooperatively with other staff members, supervisors, and Managers on Duty to create a safe and enjoyable experience that keep children involved and having fun.

- Must be at least 15 years of age or older
- Possession of current American Red Cross certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Willing to work under direct supervision
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team
- Prior experience in childhood development, babysitting, recreation or latchkey programs
- Current/previous certification in American Red Cross Babysitting
- Potential to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to sit on the floor for a period of time in order to play or read with children
- Attend required staff meetings and trainings
- Regular, predictable and punctual attendance
