The nature of this position requires the successful candidate to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. We are currently looking to fill the following shift(s) beginning 3/31/2025:
Supplemental Information: All positions within this job classification have been designated as casual in nature and all employees serving in such positions are considered to be casual employees. Casual employees serve strictly at the pleasure of the City and their employment may be terminated at any time for any reason, with or without cause.
Gym Attendants at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC) ensure fair and safe participation in all gym activities and programs for members and guests. The DCRC hosts an array of activities in the gymnasium including sport leagues, parent/child classes, open gyms, and fitness classes.
Scheduling/AvailabilityThe nature of this position requires the successful candidate to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. We are currently looking to fill the following shift(s) beginning 3/31/2025:
- Mondays, 5:30-9:45pm
- Tuesdays, 1-5:30pm
- Wednesdays, 1-5:30pm & 5:30-9:45pm
- Fridays, 1-5:30pm & 5:30-9:45pm

- Facilitating recreational sports, leagues, and classes, as well as operating the score clock when needed
- Maintaining cleanliness of the gym including sweeping floors, putting away equipment, picking up trash, and stocking ice bags
- Documenting and assisting with any injuries or accidents
- Knowing and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures
- Properly documenting any incidents and dismissing disorderly patrons if necessary
- Conducting hourly participant counts
- Attending scheduled staff meetings
- Wearing your proper uniform so you are easily identifiable by members, guests, and coworkers
- Must be 17 years of age or older
- Must be regularly available to work either Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays beginning March 31st
- Possession of a valid American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to lift and move objects/sporting equipment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work under direct supervision
- Ability to work diligently and efficiently
- Ability to work conscientiously and courteously with the public
- Prior experience in sports/recreation
- Potential to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk around to monitor areas of responsibility
- Attend staff meetings and trainings
- Regular, predictable and punctual attendance
- Ability to develop positive relationships with people from different backgrounds
- Accept other responsibilities deemed necessary by your supervisor in order to ensure quality service
- Perform duties assigned to the best of your ability and with a positive attitude
