What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concessions Worker (Softball) - Temporary 2025 Term position at City of Dubuque, IA?
Position Summary
The Concessions Workers will serve food to diners at counter or from a steam table; and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Duties
- Process customer bills or payments.
- Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment; tableware.
- Operate cash registers; kitchen tools and equipment to include popcorn machine, propane gas grill and concession equipment.
- Take customer orders.
- Balance receipts.
- Serve food and beverages.
- Cook foods.
- Prepare hot or cold beverages; and food.
- Package food or supplies.
- Practice food service health and sanitation procedures.
- Report potential hazards to supervisor.
- Verify age of customers purchasing alcohol products and writing checks using photo identification.
- Maintain uniform and nametag per required guidelines.
- Assist with complete start-up and closing procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Food Production - Knowledge of techniques and equipment for planting, growing, and harvesting food products (both plant and animal) for consumption, including storage/handling techniques.
- Sales and Marketing - Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Active Listening and Comprehension - Listening to others, not interrupting, asking good questions, and understanding what people are saying.
Qualifications
- Must be eighteen years of age.
- Must establish IPACT certification prior to first day of employment.
