Position Summary
**Adult Summer and Fall Softball League Operations require performing duties: Sundays-Fridays 5:30-10:30 p.m.
GENERAL SUMMARY: Conduct adult softball league recreation activities with the City of Dubuque, taking into account the needs and interests of individual members; and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Duties
JOB DUTIES:
- Serve as onsite coordinator/supervisor; and umpire on occasion.
- Fill out score cards for umpires.
- Collect nightly scores.
- Close and lock bathrooms, press boxes, and entrance gates each night.
- Maintain park cleanliness.
- Communicate with Recreation Supervisor regarding staff issues, softball complaints, and decisions made regarding the program or staff.
- Attend summer and fall captain's meetings.
- Update the rain-out hotline on game days after 5:00 pm.
- Assist the concessions workers on occasion when needed.
- Greet customers, patrons, or visitors.
- Respond to patron comments, questions, and concerns.
- Administer first-aid to participants, or call for assistance.
- Enforce rules or regulations.
- Promote products, services, or programs.
- Gather information in order to provide services to clients.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.- Service Orientation - Looking for ways to help people.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and background of ASA softball rules/regulations.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an outdoor setting under extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, etc.
