Summary:
Under general supervision, plans, implements and supervises Recreation programs and activities, coordinates the use and maintenance of recreation Center facilities and grounds, ensuring compliance with all applicable City policies, procedures and safety regulations. Provides effective and courteous customer service. Assists in supervising the work of volunteers and variable/on-demand staff. Reports to the Recreation Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent plus some college-level coursework in relevant field(s), supplemented by a minimum of one year of experience in recreation programming/event planning. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
- Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
- Requires current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Requires proficient computer skills & experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Publisher) and RecTrac, plus the ability and desire to acquire new computer skills.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Must be able to meet the scheduling requirements to open and close the facility as scheduled; work hours will require evenings.
- Experience in athletic and/or child care programming is preferred.
- Ability to coordinate and organize creative and inclusive recreational programming that meets the community’s needs.
- Must possess other special training & certifications or licenses as applicable to assigned area(s) of supervision such as before & after school programs, aquatics, seniors, athletics and fitness.
- Ability to exert moderate and constant physical effort, typically involving some combinations of stooping, kneeling, crouching and some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling objects and materials of moderate weight (12-50 pounds).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.33 - $19.93 per hour
