Provide safe, secure and clean environment for the Recreation Center climbing wall users
Essential Job Duties
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
Knowledge Of
Operations, services, and activities of a City Parks and Recreation Department including but not limited to: Climbing wall certification, and emergency procedures.
Ability To
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
Maintain mental capacity that allows the capability of effectively interacting and communicating with others.
Work Environment
Indoor recreational facilities, irregular work hours; may work in or around water and slippery surfaces.
Periods of mobility with light and heavy physical activity.
Physical Activities
Ability to effectively interact with other individuals.
Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, reach, carry, grasp and turn objects;
Ability to climb stairs; and stand, sit and walk for up to 60 minutes at a time;
Acceptable eyesight to read printed material equipment;
Acceptable hearing to communicate with others in person or through telephonic means;
Acceptable verbal and conversation skills to effectively communicate with others via the phone, at meetings and to greet and assist visitors.
Minimum Qualifications
Education or Formal Training and Licenses:
Climbing Wall Certification;
Certified, or the ability to get certified, in CPR/First Aide/AED.
Experience
Prefer experience in climbing and climbing walls.

Essential Job Duties
- Report to work at assigned time.
- Set-up all required and necessary equipment in order to get climbing wall ready for scheduled use.
- Ensure a safe facility by inspecting equipment on a daily basis.
- Completely fill out and submit in a timely manner all incident/accident reports.
- Provide the proper clean up after all the climbing wall closes.
- Fill out and submit as scheduled an accurate time card for hours worked.
- Monitor the climbing wall area to ensure proper behavior from all user groups, participants and visitors.
- Supervise and belay the users of the climbing wall.
- Clean and organize climbing wall equipment.
- Assist in other areas of the building when able.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
