Under the direction of the Court Administrator, you will work closely with the presiding judge to ensure the smooth administration of court functions. Your responsibilities will include providing clerical support, assisting in preparing cases for pre-trial conferences, and delivering exceptional customer service. This is a part-time position working 27 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with no weekend work required. We offer flexible scheduling within those weekday hours to accommodate your needs.
Prepare and maintain accurate court files, including dockets and accounting records. Process case files during and after court sessions. Provide clerical support to the Court Administrator and Municipal Court Judge. Process incoming citations and documents related to traffic, parking, animal control, code compliance, and misdemeanor crime/drug charges. Schedule new court appearances as needed. Input and manage case data in the computerized records system. Process defendants and prisoners using courtroom technology. Handle financial transactions, including revenue collection. Prepare legal documents, such as warrants, citations, bail bonds, and subpoenas. Maintain court records and process public and law enforcement requests in accordance with Colorado law. Respond to inquiries from the public and outside agencies. Handle incoming mail and phone calls. Assist with community service programs and other court-related tasks. Prepare for jury trials.
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Two years of experience in administrative support. An understanding of relevant federal, state, and local laws, codes, ordinances, and legal research methods. Knowledge of legal and business letter writing and basic report preparation. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks efficiently. Ability to maintain accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality in all work.
