Pay: $23.05 – Art Instructor II (Preschool/Middle School)
$31.29 – Art Instructor III (Adults)

We’ll be opening a new and expanded Eagan Art House with new programs scheduled to being in June, 2025.

To prepare for our new space, we’re looking to hire innovative visual art teachers for a variety of positions for youth, teens, and adults including teachers for:
- Pottery
- Painting
- Fiber arts
- Printing
- Drawing
- Fused glass
- Multi-media
- Other art forms
Specific hours and schedules for these positions will be coordinated as programs needs are determined closer to the opening of the new Art House. Hours may include daytime, evenings, and weekends. Art Teacher positions are part-time recurring (year-round), not to exceed 29 hours per week, not benefit eligible.
Art Teachers are responsible for planning and implementing curriculum for a variety of ages and skill levels. Art learning experiences include ongoing classes, workshops, summer camps, outreach, and other events.
The Eagan Art House team is highly collaborative and committed to creative engagement for all ages throughout the community.
- Enthusiastically engage students in the process of art creation.
- Develop, plan, and implement curriculum for ages 6-11 through adult, and adult/child workshops.
- Demonstrate knowledge of a variety of artists, artwork styles and art history.
- Ability to provide hands on demonstrations to students.
- Prepare materials for classes & workshops, as needed.
- Listen to student needs and adapt curriculum development accordingly.
- Thoroughly clean up teaching space and supplies after each class.
Additional Position Functions:
- Work cooperatively with other Eagan Art House team members.
- Keep supervisor informed of concerns or issues related to classes.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Degree or coursework leading to a degree in art or art education or equivalent experience in art or art education.
- 1 year of experience teaching visual art to youth, teens, or adults in a classroom or workshop setting.
- Ability to be flexible in a variety of settings.
- Positive attitude and ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to work and problem solve independently.
- Sense of curiosity and willingness to ask questions.
- Actively creates personal artwork.
Physical Requirements:
Sit, stand, talk, write, hear. Occasionally required to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally must climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, run, walk. Adequate vision to perform the essential functions of the job.
Working Conditions:
- Mostly indoor conditions with occasional outdoor conditions.
- Variety of spaces that may require moving tables, chairs and equipment.
- This is an employed position with the opportunity to earn Employee Sick and Safe time.
